Irish 4-year-old Championship Competition

The global entry fee per horse is €105.00, stable not compulsory and not included. The global entry fee includes 3 rounds over 3 days.

Full entry fee is required at time of entry.  €65.00 will be refunded should a horse be withdrawn.

Closing time will be strictly adhered to with a €30 supplement being charged on late entries.
No substitutions of horses are allowed.

All classes will be run as per SJI rules.
All horses are welcome to compete in 3 rounds over 3 days.  In order to qualify for the final each horse must have finished on zero penalties in the 2 qualifying rounds.  All horses that incur zero penalties in the final will divide €2,700 equally.
The competition each day will consist of one round with a time allowed. Article 238.1.1

Stabling on site is not compulsory.

THIS CLASS IS OPEN TO RIDERS OF ANY NATION AND HORSES OF ANY BREED OR COUNTRY OF BIRTH.

Prize fund breakdown for Irish 4-year-old Championship Competition

€2,700 which will be divided among all horses on equal lowest penalties.

A €240 bonus will be awarded to the horse on lowest penalties that is judged to have the most future potential.

A €160 bonus will be awarded to the second horse on lowest penalties that is judged to have the most future potential.

An €80 bonus will be awarded to the third horse on lowest penalties that is judged to have the most future potential.

 

5 & 6 year old Irish Breeders Classic Competition

The global entry fee per horse is €370, this includes stabling, 2 qualifying rounds and the relevant final.

Full entry fee is required at time of entry.  €270 will be refunded should a horse be withdrawn.
Closing time will be strictly adhered to with a €30 supplement being charged on late entries.
No substitutions of horses are allowed.

All classes will be run as per SJI rules.

Horses must be registered with a studbook recognised by the Irish Department of Agriculture.
All horses must be born in Ireland and have documentation to prove so i.e. Dam, Sire and breeder must be documented in passport. Breeders address must be in Ireland. Horses born in Ireland without documentation to prove this are ineligible.

All horses must remain on site for the entire duration of the show.  Any horses leaving the show grounds without permission will be automatically eliminated.

The top 25 horses or all double clears, after two qualifying rounds will proceed to the Grand Final with the remainder eligible for the Consolation Final.

Qualifying rounds will consist of one round with a time allowed.  Article 238.1.1

In the event of equality of faults cumulative time and faults over 2 qualifying rounds will decide.
A rider may ride an unlimited amount of horses in the qualifiers but may only ride a maximum of 2 horses in each age category and 3 overall in the Grand Final. Only in this case may a rider be substituted to ride a qualified horse in the final.

Both finals will consist of 1 round and a jump off in the event of more than one clear round. Article 238.2.2

This class is open to riders of any nation.

Prize fund breakdown for 5- & 6-year old Irish Breeders Classic Competition

Grand Final prize fund – €26,420 before SJI deductions

  • €2,500 of the Grand Final prize fund will be allocated to the breeders of the top 10 placed horses in the Grand Final. Kindly sponsored by Horse Sport Ireland.
  • €320 of the above Grand Final prize fund will be allocated to the Horsemanship prize for the best produced and ridden horse in the Grand Final.
  • €5,000 of the above prize fund may be awarded in the form of equestrian supplies vouchers.

Consolation Final – €2,400

 

Approximate fence height

5 y.o’s qualifiers = 1.15m. – 1.20m

5 y.o’s finals = 1.20m. – 1.25m

6 y.o’s qualifiers = 1.20m. – 1.25m

6 y.o’s finals = 1.25m. – 1.30m

 

7 & 8-year-old Irish Championship Competition

The global entry fee per horse is €215, this includes 2 qualifying rounds and the relevant final.Full entry fee is required at time of entry. €175 will be refunded should a horse be withdrawn.

Closing time will be strictly adhered to with a €30 supplement being charged on late entries.

No substitutions of horses are allowed.

All classes will be run as per SJI rules.

Horses from any country of birth are eligible.

Horses do NOT need to be stabled on site.

The top 10 placed horses from each qualifying round will qualify for the Grand Final with the remainder eligible for the Consolation Final.

Each qualifying round will be run as a 2-phase competition with the 2nd round against the clock.  Article 238.2.2
